Day 1 of fatherhood, you survived a homebirth. There are no words... |
Dear Keith,
This blog is a tribute to you on Father's Day. There are no words to express how much gratitude I have for you as my partner on this long and crazy journey. You have been a solid foundation and the kind of man who shows up to the plate. A shining example of how you can overcome what's been done to you and be a better person. I am thankful to be on a journey of parenthood with someone who is dedicated to the cause of putting our family first. We can't thank you enough and I'm sure we don't show you enough. Your hard work and dedication brings food to our table, a roof over our head, education for our boys, and everything else it takes to run our finely oiled machine. You are the perfect dad to raise two rambunctious, highly spirited and downright wild boys. You can show them all the way. You can show them how to be "real" men who support their families and love and hug their children. You can also, show them how to support each other as brothers. You can also show them how to build anything they might dream up, be it skate ramps, zip lines, tree houses. They are going to have a blast with you.
You are the dad that there is nothing that could separate you from your boys. You would suffer through horrible daughter-n-laws, teenage anarchy, football addictions. Whatever. You have repeatedly said that where they are, you will also be and that it is your intention to love them through everything. I love you for that and thank you for the wonderful memories we are creating with in the prime of our lives. This is our journey.
