Backyard play

Rainbarrels can be a lot of fun. However, you really can't leave'em full with little ones wanting to get inside of them...

We a have faux zip line. We are in the dreaming phase for the real deal.

Kiddie Quotes

Eli after Diego will say where is the baby tiger? "In your butt". What is wrong with this kid?
Hudson: "I want to get a job so I can buy a baby sister."
Hudson: "Let's adopt an indian girl so she'll like indian food".
Eli (when you don't know something) says in utter exasperation or in total condecension, "You not KNOW that!"
They both have decided to rename their babysitter a "big boy sitter".
Both of the boys ask after brushing their teeth, "Do my teeth look shiny?" through bared teeth.
Eli (upon waking from a nap) said to Keith, "You're really a pirate aren't you".
Eli (who loves cleaning windows) " Let's clean the windows so people can touch them."
Hudson (after I asked him what he learned at preschool): "My school is not a learning school. Its a play school."
Hudson: "Fourth of july makes me too hot and tired"
Hudson: I don't love strangers, but I love everybody that I KNOW!"
Hudson: I love my whole famiy bigger than the WHOLE city."
Eli and Huddy (Throughout every day they make battle sounds whilst air fighting) "Chaaaaarge!" "Hoo HA!!!" "Boom, Bam" "HiYA!"
Eli: "The sun is being mean at me. It's blowing hot air in my FACE!"
Hudson: (Describing the size of his gum) " It's not a little bit huge, it's a little bit medium.
Eli: (He's doing a lot of nonsense talk right now that you need to appreciate with his hand gestures. He's like a physical comedian in the vein of Charlie Chaplain or the Marks' Brothers...) " What the heck!?! Huh? Huh? Who are you? Why are you mackin' me on the booty?"
Hudson: (After riding the Viking Ship at Coney Island) : " If a little kid doesn't like being on a really high ride, they should at least have a seat belt" and " Viking Ships should only be for VIKINGS!"
Hudson: "Mommy you do to know. Grown-ups know everything." (I hope he remembers this when he's 16)
Eli: " I wuv huddy cause he's wittle wike me."
Hudson sarcastically at age 4,"Are you kidding me?" or "Daddy, you are about to be kidding me."
Hudson: " I am Luke Skyworker..."
Hudson: (to the tune of star wars) "Mo----mmy, get me some so------ocks! Get me some so------ocks. dun dun dun dunnnnnnn"
Eli (Age 2) to keith: " Your my baby daddy."
Eli 10x's/day: I'm buzz wightyear, here to save the day. To infinity and beyond!
Hudson: Mommy, what is mass extinction?
Hudson: Mommy, I want to have falling-in-love party.
Eli: I mad at you, Huuuudddyyy Buuuuuuddy!
Eli: I not a dragon, I'm ELI!
Hudson: Mommy, why do you stay in bed even though its morning? Is it because its cold outside?
Hudson: Mommy, do you have arms to hold little people, is that why you have arms?

What I've learned so far...

I used to think multi-tasking was a bad thing but now I realize that its a good way for kids to learn because they take in everything like sponges. Exposure, exposure, exposure is good for them.
That being a soccer mom isn't so bad.
To simplify Holiday Weekends!!!
That our purpose (right now) is to raise happy, physically/emotionally healthy individuals to give to the world.

Sometimes a mother needs to get space and do something that reminds her of her old self. Going from maiden to mother is a BIG transition and it doesn't have to happen over night.
Producing breast milk is no laughing matter.
Post partum depression is very real and very dangerous. If anyone ever needs my help with it I will be there in a hot second.
Be present... Be in the moment all the time. It makes your marriage great. It makes your children happier.
